Frequently asked questions

How do AI credits work?

Garden plans, beds, plant lists, and Verdant's regular planning tools are unlimited. Credits are used when you ask AI to help visualize a garden, identify plants in a photograph, or develop a planting plan from a photo. A watercolor of your plan uses 1 credit. Identifying plants in a garden photograph uses 1 credit, turning that photograph into a plan uses 3, and designing a new planting for a photograph of your own space uses 4. Your remaining credits are always visible in the app.

Do unused credits roll over?

Unused credits don't roll over between billing periods. Annual subscribers receive all 300 credits up front, so they're available when you're doing the most planning. Any credits left from your free trial carry over as a bonus.

How does the free trial work?

You get 7 days to try every feature, including 7 AI credits. We'll email you 2 days before your trial ends. If you don't cancel, your chosen subscription starts automatically.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, right from your account. You'll keep full access until the end of your paid period, and you won't be charged again. After that, your plans and plant lists remain available to view for as long as you like.

Do you offer refunds?

We don't offer refunds. You can cancel anytime, and you'll keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for.

Will the price go up?

Subscribe by May 31, 2027, and we'll keep your subscription price the same for 2 years, provided you remain subscribed. After that, or if you subscribe later, any price change takes effect at renewal. We'll email you at least 30 days beforehand.

Can I switch plans?

Yes. If you move to a longer plan, the change takes effect immediately. You'll pay the difference for the current billing period and receive your new credit allowance right away. If you move to a shorter plan, the change takes effect at your next renewal.

Are my photos private?

Your photos and plans stay in your account. We don't share or publish them without your permission. Location data is removed from uploaded photos, and photos are deleted after a year of account inactivity.

Where does Verdant work?

Verdant is currently available in the United States. Your ZIP code helps us determine your growing zone and local frost dates.

Subscription terms

The trial

The trial lasts 7 days and includes 7 AI credits. Every feature works during the trial. You choose your plan when you sign up, and it begins when the trial ends unless you cancel first. We email you 2 days before the trial ends. Starting your plan early ends the trial and starts billing that day. AI credits you don't use in the trial carry over as a bonus.

Renewal

Your subscription renews at the same price at the end of each period until you cancel. Yearly plans get an email 30 days before they renew. Payments are handled by Stripe and appear on your statement as VERDANT.

Changing plans

Moving to a longer plan starts right away and you're charged the difference. Moving to a shorter plan starts when your current period ends.

Canceling

Cancel anytime in the app under Account. You keep everything until the end of the period you've paid for and won't be charged again. After that, your plans and lists stay open to view with no end date, and editing returns if you subscribe again.

Refunds

Payments are not refunded, including for the unused part of a period.

Failed payments

If a payment doesn't go through, we try again over the following week and email you so you can update your card. Your account keeps working in that time, but AI credits can't be used until the payment succeeds.
